How to Check Your Keyword Rankings

Why Check Rankings by Location?
Google shows different results in different places. A bakery can rank #2 in Irvine and not appear at all in Los Angeles. If you serve local customers, the rankings that matter are the ones people see in your area.
Searching on your own phone isn’t reliable either, because Google personalizes results based on your history. This tool checks the results a new visitor in that city would see.
How to Read Your Results
- Rank: your position among organic results, not counting ads or maps
- Page: which page of Google it appears on, with 10 results per page
- Ranking page: the exact URL Google shows for that keyword
- Not in top N: your site wasn’t found within the depth you chose

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this keyword rank checker free?
The tool itself is free with no sign-up. It uses your own Serper.dev API key to fetch Google results, and Serper offers free credits for new accounts with paid plans after that. Each results page checked uses one search credit.
How many search credits does a check use?
Up to one credit per results page, per keyword. Checking 10 keywords in the top 50 uses at most 50 credits, but the tool stops searching a keyword as soon as your site is found, so it usually uses fewer.
Why is my ranking different from what I see on Google?
Google personalizes results based on your search history, signed-in account, device, and exact location. This tool checks results for the city and state you enter without that personalization, which is closer to what a new visitor in that area would see.
Does the rank include Google Maps, ads, or featured snippets?
No. The rank counts regular organic results only. Ads, the local map pack, and other search features are not included in the position.
Is my API key safe?
Your key is sent directly from your browser to Serper.dev and never to our server. If you choose “Remember my key on this device”, it’s saved only in your own browser, and you can remove it anytime by unchecking the box and running a check.
Does it count subdomains and specific pages?
Yes. Enter your main domain, like example.com, and results from www.example.com or blog.example.com also count. The results table shows the exact page that ranks for each keyword.
Can I check rankings outside the United States?
Not yet. The tool currently checks Google results for cities and states in the United States.
